At our events we offer the opportunity to get to know like-minded people and to exchange ideas. For this purpose, we offer beginners, professionals or everyone topic-related or just meetings for a cosy exchange and chat. Below you will find explanations and frequently asked questions about our events. You can find the dates for this in the calendar.

Please note: We do not organize play parties and are not a dating agency. We offer help for self-help.

General Event Information

Lesbian and gay city festival 2026 – Help Needed

The 32. Lesbian and gay city festival (also called “Motzstreet Festival”) takes place at Saturday 18.07 and Sunday 19.07.2026. We would like to introduce the topic of BDSM and kink to Newbies, Vanillas and everyone interested again this year. We’ve got a stand and presentation material, but what we really need are volunteers.

So, if you want to talk informally about BDSM with Newbies and other open people – material to break the ice like our patented (or not), totally scientific (or not), absolutely serious (or not) BDSM test included – we would be really grateful if you could give us a few hours of your time. This way you are not only helping to remove the stigma of BDSM, but may even help to allow someone to jump into a more fulfilling sex life, who knows?

No prior experience is necessary to help out at the stand. All volunteers will receive an information sheet in advance with tips and important details. For those who have never participated before, and as a refresher for the veterans, there will be an orientation meetup about two weeks before the city festival.

Overview

    Berlin Munch

    Even in a capital city like Berlin it can still be hard to make contact with like-minded people. Even people who were already outed and have now the wish to meet like-minded people were often found in front of impossibly high walls. Adds or meeting in shady places is nothing for everyone. You just don't know what might happen and thus stay at home and do nothing.

    With the regular munches, we want to create a relaxed opportunity to get to know other SMers. Since we know from our own experience how difficult it is for many to venture into relevant SM-bars, we offer all those who are curious the opportunity to meet in a normal place without a dress code. For people who have been there for a long time, we would like to create an opportunity to talk about SM experiences without there being an obsessive "pressure to confess".

    We cannot provide therapy, match-making or tips for professional studios. Overall, the focus should be less on SM practices, safety aspects or the difficulties of coming out, rather we want to convey the feeling: "You are not alone", there are still a lot of people in this city whose sexual preferences are a bit ... well, they're different, and they're still pretty normal.

    It doesn't matter whether you're lesbian, gay, bi, pan, or straight. The same whether you are a newbie or have years of experience with SM. No one needs to publicly state which side of the whip he or she likes to play on.

    Please note:

    • First-time attendees: It is a good idea to show up early. If you arrive  within the first half hour, it will be much easier to find someone to talk to and, if you wish, you will be introduced to those who will be arriving later.
    • You can speak to everyone who is sitting there. In addition, there are always enough of our “official” contacts around, so that you can be passed on to one of them if necessary. We just don't want to distinguish the newcomers from the veterans with colorful hats.
    • Even though the meetings are very harmless and take place in public, we ask that you do not bring children with you.
    • Minors are also not allowed to attend the meetings. We offer minors individual advice; More on this under Frequently Asked Questions.

    International Munch

    The International Munch is not organized by the BDSM Berlin e.V. But it is a great place to meet English speaking folks from all over the world and many of us participate.

    This event is not a "PLAY" event, it's a social and friendly meet up. Everyone is welcome! We ask you to speak English 🙂

    Beginners meet & greet

    Who is this meet & greet for?
    This is for everyone that has just developed an interest in the lifestyle or people who have been practicing in their own private homes. If you do not belong to either one of these groups, you might be wrong here and might enjoy yourself better at one of the other munches. You are only eligible to attend if you are of age.

    The beginners meet & greet (mainly in German) always happens on the first Thursday of each month. Start time is 07.00 pm at the Sonntags-Club.

    The Beginners meet & greet is held in German. If you are not proficient enough, just drop us an e-mail so we know to organize an English event.

    The beginners' meeting usually takes place on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Sonntags-Club; the next date is in the calendar. The Sonntags-Club is at Greifenhagener Str. 28 (city map) and is easy to reach by S-Bahn and U-Bahn (Schönhauser Allee).

    Attention, risk of confusion: Opposite from the Sonntags-Club is a café called "Sonntags nie" (Never on Sundays). Anyone looking for us there will look in vain.

    What is the difference to a Munch?
    The group is smaller and moderated. All participants are new themselves. In a small group it is easier to calmly answer your questions. The munch is a casual meeting and is more for getting to know each other; there is less (or not exclusively) talk about specific questions about BDSM. At the beginners' meeting we are undisturbed in a separate room; the munch, on the other hand, takes place in a normal café.

    How many people do you meet there?
    Varies, but usually between 5 and 10.

    How does such a meeting for beginners work?
    After a short round of introductions, during which nobody has to say anything, but everyone can say something (which, by the way, always applies to our meetings ) we give some information about safety (code words, drugs, safer sex, doctors, covers ...), rules (party behavior, personal ads, legal situation ...), media, parties, shops, coming out ...

    Whatever you want to know, we will do our best to answer your questions or at least to name a contact person. We also have samples of some books and magazines and a few brochures for you to take away.

    What can't we do?
    The beginners' meeting is, like the Munch, no facility for relationship search. It serves solely to establish contact with like-minded people and get rid of the most burning questions. We make sure that no one is hit on against their will or questioned about their preferences. Anything that can be dealt with theoretically, we can discuss. We do not offer practical demonstrations there.

    Is there a "dress code"?
    No.

    Does it cost anything?
    No.

    Do I have to register?
    No – just drop by. For those who don't like the idea of turning up there alone, we also offer the opportunity to meet one of us for a cup of coffee in advance (e-mail to info@(this domain) is sufficient).

    How do I find you?
    In the Sonntags-Club there are always some kind of discussion groups and information events; the people behind the bar are used to it and will send you to us if you make a searching face.

    Is it important to show up on time?
    Yes. Anyone who shows up more than a quarter of an hour late will not be admitted and will have to wait until the next beginners' meeting. We're serious. If you can't or don't want to show up on time, you're of course welcome at the Munch - that's not an issue there.

    This Sonntags-Club is a nice facility, but its website explicitly states that they appeal to homo-, trans- etc. -sexuals. There was nothing to be found of BDSM there.
    The problem is that there is simply no such thing as a Sonntags-Club for BDSMers. The Sonntags-Club is bright, spacious, easy to get to, with a quiet back room and we are welcomed with open arms. We do not only address heterosexual BDSMers, but also gays and lesbians. Since our other meetings take place in "normal" pubs, we believe that there should be something for all sexual preferences.

    This is the event for you if you:

    Please be on time for the meeting. Many first timers are shy and insecure. We want to respect that and want to avoid disturbances, so everyone can take their first steps in a safe and confidential environment.

    Beginner`s Stroll

    Who is the beginner`s stroll aimed at?
    To all those who are either just discovering their interest in BDSM, or who have been dealing with it for a long time, but who dare to leave their own four walls for the first time and want to approach others. Of course, BDSM enthusiasts, who would like a guided first insight into the Berlin BDSM / sex shop world and are not afraid to repeat the basics, are also welcome. If this doesn't apply to you, please come to one of the munches instead. Only adults can take part in the beginners' stroll. Please be ready to present your 2G credentials at the beginning.

    At the moment, the stroll is only offered in German. If you are interested in an English Version, please let us know!

    What is the difference to the beginners' meeting and Munch?
    In contrast to the beginners' meeting, which is usually held in the protected back room in the Sonntags-Club, this time we are on the road and visiting 4 special shops themed erotic / BDSM. Before and between the stroll units, topics are moderated in quieter corners. At this meeting "on tour" there are many opportunities to get into conversation and ask questions.

    The Munch on the other hand is a casual meeting and serves to get to know each other; there is usually less talk about specific questions about BDSM.

    About how many people meet there?
    This meeting is quite new, so we can count the number don't estimate yet. Between 4 and 10 are expected.

    How does a beginner's stroll work?
    At the meeting point there is a short round of introductions, during which nobody has to say anything , but everyone can say something (which, by the way, always applies to our meetings).

    Then we will visit 4 Berlin stores that offer kinky fashion and toys. There is no obligation to buy! On the contrary: it's about making it easy to get started and giving a first glimpse of Berlin's shopping diversity - far away from online shopping. Afterwards there is time for detailed consultations or visits to other shops that may serve your special kink better.

    Between and during visits to the shops we provide information on safety, rules, media, parties and other shops , ... In short: a lot of things that beginners are interested in or should know. We also have the opportunity to ask specific questions about handling toys.

    What can't we do?
    The beginners' meeting and the beginners' stroll are - just like the Munch - no dating facility. It serves only to establish contact with like-minded people and get rid of the most burning questions. We make sure that nobody is hit on against their will or asked about personal preferences.

    A visit to all the great shops in the city that offer something for all kinds of kinks, with plenty of time for individual advice and detailed information about all toys would take at least 3 days. Therefore, our goal is to provide initial assistance when crossing the threshold with a desire for more. Nothing stands in the way of an extensive shopping tour afterwards. Of course, there are also tips on other shops that might interest you.

    Is there a "dress code"?
    No, but since we sometimes stand outside for several minutes, dress for the respective weather.

    Does it cost anything?
    No. However, since we take the subway for 3 stations, you should have a suitable ticket or small change with you.

    Do I have to register?
    No, just drop by.

    How do I find you?
    The first meeting point is in front of the Other Nature shop. The shop is only a few meters away from Mehringdamm at the corner of Bergmannstraße, but is somewhat hidden behind hedges, making it a discreet "entrance".

    Is it important to show up on time?
    Yes. If you show up more than a quarter of an hour late, you will probably not find us again and will have missed the round of introductions. Please try again at the next meeting. We mean that seriously, because getting to know each other is very important for a trusting atmosphere. If you can't or don't want to show up on time, you're welcome at the Munch - it's not an issue there.

    This event is brand new. Therefore, it is currently offered in German only to weed out the kinks. If you wish for an English “Windowshop and Talk for Beginners and Berlin Newbies” version, contact us via einsteigertreff@(this domain). Then we know the demand for English speakers and can adjust accordingly.

    BDSM Munch Potsdam

    Every first thursday of the month our regulars' table takes place in Potsdam, where we simply meet in normal clothes to chat, exchange information, answer new questions, etc.

    Every second Friday of the month we host the Petplay munch Berlin, starting 7.00 p.m. Everyone who is interested in their animal side is welcome. Owners and those who are just generally interested are also welcome. No matter if you are new, have a lot of experience, are gay, bi or hetero, you are welcome here. Ask your questions, meet interesting people and have fun.

    D/s-Munch (Friday)

    The D/s Munch is used for the exchange of experiences and for networking between people in relationships with a strong power imbalance. Regardless of whether they are called 24/7 D/s, M/s, O/p, TPE, FLR, PDD. It is designed as a discussion table where the participants can exchange information about their experiences and challenges in a trusting environment.

    Target group
    The event is intended for people who live or have lived in a power-based relationship and are interested in sharing their experiences and difficulties with others. A positive attitude towards appropriate forms of relationships is required.

    Is there a dress code?
    Yeah-no... We meet in a public place, so don't scare the villagers. Nevertheless, clothing appropriate to the theme is welcome.

    We meet at different locations, you will then be informed of the respective location. We are also happy to talk to you before you participate to see whether the expectations on both sides match.

    The D/s Munch is aimed at all those interested in D/s: who practice D/s, have been involved with it for a long time, want information or want to exchange experiences with each other. If this does not apply to you, please come to one of the munches instead.

    Do I have to register?
    Yes, you must register in good time (2 days in advance): an email to DS-Stammtisch@(this domain) is sufficient. We want to prevent too many people from ending up at the table who don't know what to do with the topic - the other meetings are there for them.

    What does "D/s" stand for?
    D/s stands for Dominance/submission, which is roughly speaking more about power games than about pain.

    Who is the D/s -Munch for?
    To all those interested in D/s, who practice D/s, have been involved with it for a long time, want to find out more or exchange experiences with each other. If this doesn't apply to you, please come to one of the Munches instead.
    Even D/s beginners, or those who "only" want general information about D/s, its variants, differentiation or mixed forms with SM, or would like to find out for themselves "What do I / what do we actually do - is that D/s?", is very welcome. In order to prevent any disappointments: please consider that the D/s meeting is basically designed as a discussion and exchange of experiences and does not represent a "basic and introductory course". Nevertheless, many questions will be answered in the course of the discussion and there will usually always be time and competent contact persons to discuss the basics during the course of the evening. The D/s meeting is not suitable for absolute BDSM beginners, please come to one of the beginners' meetings instead.

    What is the difference to the Munch?
    The group is smaller and is partly moderated so that the number of participants is not too large. In small groups, it is easier to discuss in peace, exchange experiences and answer questions. The moderated part is usually under a jointly chosen motto or topic / discussion focus. Otherwise, or as the evening progresses, there is free discussion and chatting.

    The munches, on the other hand, are loose meetings and serve more to get to know each other; there is less talk about specific questions about BDSM. At the D/s meeting we are usually less disturbed because we are in a separate room or a special location; the munches, on the other hand, take place in public restaurants.

    How many people do you meet there?
    Varies, but on average between 10 and 15.

    What can't we do?
    The D/s meeting, like the Munches, is not a partner search facility. It only serves to establish contact with like-minded people, to get rid of questions and to discuss. We make sure that nobody is hit on against their will or asked about personal preferences. Anything that can be dealt with theoretically, we can discuss. We do not offer practical demonstrations.

    Women*-Munch

    Unfortunately, there is currently no organizer for the women's munch, so it is currently not taking place. If you would like to take care of the regular organization of the location, write to us at (info [et] this domain) and we can revive it. We would be very happy about your commitment.

    Our women's munch is a chance for all who consider themselves female to get together, socialize, and to chat about BDSM-related topics. It takes place at a public restaurant or cafe, hence it is not a play event. We invite you to join our casual conversation among like-minded women, regardless of sexual orientation. The munch takes place every last Thursday of a month. For the exact date and place please see our calendar. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
